Character History:
Born in the year Nineteen Hundred and Twelve, the young, Blonde-Haired, Blue-Eyed boy weight Six Pounds Even was given the name Wilhelm von Memel. He was born into a Lower middle class family whom owned a small Clock-Making shop in the city of Freiburg, the largest city in the entire region which the black forest occupied, The republic of Baden.Writing Sample:
His father, at the age of fifty years old at the time, had served as a colonel in the Old German Army, and had commanded a division of large artillery guns which fired on French lines, moving in, and out, of France as the war front grew and shrunk. When the war ended in Germany’s defeat by the hands of the English, French, And Americans, his father returned home, to the clock making store, never to be the same again. He’d seen death, he’d seen disease, and he’d seen things worth than both of them, injured soldiers who lived through machine-gun fire and artillery barrages but were badly hurt, missing legs, missing hands, missing arms… some even missing parts of their chest…
Wilhelm was the average child, to say the least. He went to school every morning carrying his books, tied with string, His blonde hair perfectly combed by his father and his black shoes always perfectly shined. Wilhelm had, what people in the future would call, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Everything had to be perfect, or else he’d freak out and have to fix everything.
Those years for Germany, were very, very tough. As his teaching went on, and he continued to grow, most of his free-time was spent working part-time jobs to help keep the family going. What free time he did have he spent learning about the news, such as a Beer-Hall putsch in Munich, and the Stock Market crash in America, which he was somewhat happy of, because as he grew older, a burning hate grew for the allies forces of World War One whom lead to the defeat, and ultimately economic depression, of Germany in 1919 onward. After successfully completing his high-school education, he began studying science and history at the University of Rostock. In 1934 however, he interrupted his university studies and joined the SS-erfügungstruppe, becoming one of the first ever graduates of the new SS-Junkerschule at Bad Tölz. After his graduation he was assigned to SS-Standarte Germania, Das Reich and up until the onset of World War II, von Memel served on an inspection team of the SS-VT.
In 1938, He was one of a group of Fourteen Tanks of the SS, part of the 8th German Army, which marched into Austria in what was dubbed the “War of Flowers”, as not a single shot was fired the whole time. He Commanded the tank, and participated in the Parade through Vienna, And there got his first, first-hand-look at Hitler. It was only for a minute, as his tank had driven by Hitler during the parade, but he still saw him. For his participation in this “war of flowers”, he received the Anschluss Commemorative Medal.
That same year, he participated in the Seizure of the Sudetenland, and for such action, was awarded The Sudetenland Commemorative Medal.
By the time the war against Poland rolled around, Wilhelm’s mind was full of hatred for many people, especially the Jewish people, which he believed were the reason Germany had lost the Great War, and why his family had almost gone into poverty after the war ended, and Germany entered its depression. He supervised the rounding-up of Polish Jews in 1939, and Rumors have placed him behind a Machine Gun massacring many of them.
By the Time He’d been transferred to the Western Front, The German Blitzkrieg was about to begin, and he found himself commanding a group of the long-barreled variant of the Panzer IV. His armored column was responsible for the destruction of an entire French Armored column during an ambush, where Ten Soumua S35s and Three Char B1s were knocked out, taking only three Panzer IVs and four Panzer 38(t)s of another armored column out in return. When news reached the Heads of the SS, He was recalled to Berlin to receive his promotion to SS-HauptsturmFührer, the equivalent of Captain, and was presented, by Himmler Himself, the SS Honor Sword and the SS-Ehrenring (Honour Ring of the SS).
In 1941, he found himself on the Balkans Front, slamming into Yugoslavia. His armored column took large casualties as they rolled through the Country, but they managed to drive into, and sieze almost without a shot, the Capital of the Nation, Belgrade. His armored column resisted the re-capture of the city by Yugoslav forces For almost a week before the front finally caught up to them(they had driven almost Seventy Miles ahead of the lines to capture the city), and they were relieved. When this amazing news hit Berlin, He was once again re-called to the city, this time with the rest of his men, to visit the Fuhrer Himself.
This was the second time he’d ever seen Hitler up close and personal, but the only time he’d gotten to shake the mans hand. The Fuhrer seemed to be a very friendly and smart man, and even called Wilhelm a National Hero, but he rejected the title, simply saying it was his duty.
While Wilhelm is considered to be a down-right evil man, he can actually be very friendly, and rumor has it that he is one of the only members in the entire Reich, and probably the entire SS, that does not feel negatively against the Homosexual population of the Nation. Three times has he defended the actions of men whom were caught doing things “questionable” and even deemed “Homosexual”. All three times, the men in the case were found innocent, and rumor has it that they were only found innocent because of the simple fact that He was defending their actions, whatever they were.
Silence filled the night time air of the Country of Poland. Wilhelm found himself and his crew leading a column of Eight Panzer Fours along a long road through a forest in Poland, the silence filling the air. It was 1939, the year of German Expanse, and not even 10 years into the 1000 years his Nations glorious empire would last.Approved/Denied?: Approved
Wilhelm grew uneasy, and at-least twice had his column stop and shut off their engines so he could stand atop the tank and listen. He thought something was stalking them, but he couldn’t make his mind up on what it was. He could identify the sound of an engine, but could it just be the Engines of the other Seven Panzer IVs? He wasn’t sure.
He stood up through the commander’s hatch, his hands on the sides of the hatch, his eyes scanning the night sky as the forest continued to go on and on. The trees were thick, it wasn’t nearly the situation he wanted to be in. Once again, he thought he heard a different sound other than the sound of the Eight Panzer IVs in his column, and he banged on the top of the Panzer four, throwing his hands in the air and waving to the other tanks in the column to stop and turn off their engines.
The Eight Panzer Fours came to a screeching halt, and Wilhelm listened, ever time they’d stopped and shut off their engines, the sound was gone, but this time, he heard the sound of what he could Identify as a Polish Armored Tankette. He dropped down into the tank, and grabbed the loaded Double-Barreled flare gun sitting on the floor, before popping back up, and firing one flare on each side.
As the flare light up the night sky, He looked to both sides, and finally saw what he’d been hearing the whole time. A column of what looked like Polish TKS Tankettes, their long 20mm barrels sticking out of the small bodies of the two person vehicles. They stopped in their tracks, but it was too late for them.
“HANS! ALBERT! TELL THE REST OF THE PANZERS TO FIRE ON THOSE TARGETS TO THE RIGHT!” He yelled to the two other tank commanders who had been standing up through the hatches.
He ducked down into the tank, and ordered the Loader and gunner to rotate the gun to the right, and as His Gunner, Named Fredrik, aimed the barrel straight onto the lead tank of the Polish convoy through the trees, he could hear the machine guns and main barrels of the other tanks down in the column go off. As Wilhelm stood up through the hatch, the barrel exploded in flames, and the Shell fired into the lead Polish tank, and Wilhelm smiled as the sky began to light up with flames, the vehicles of the sub-humans known as Poles blowing sky-high in the night air.
Wilhelm ducked back down into the tank as he heard machine-gun fire wising by his head, and he ordered the driver to turn the tank towards the Column so he could see through the driver’s look-out hole. As the tank rotated, the gunner rotated the turret to stay in its spot, and Wilhelm watched the flames of the Polish tanks catch onto the pine-trees as Tank after Tank of his armored column fired on the small, lightly armored vehicles.
Their TKS tanks were no match for the heavily armored and heavily equipped guns of his Panzer Four, and after five minutes of Firing between the two columns, the fire from the Polish stalking-convoy ceased. Wilhelm smiled, and stood up through the Hatch of the tank, Watching the other tank commanders of his SS group stand up too, all of the men clearly happy and cheering. Normally, he’d let them go and look the dead men of anything valuable, but the Fire had begun to spread from tree to tree, and if they spent any longer in that damn forest, they’d probably die too.
“LETS GO MEN! We’ve got better things to do then have a picnic in this damned forest!”
He banged on the roof of his Panzer four, and as the Engine started up, He smiled to himself, listening to the silence that accompanied the Sound of eight of the Machines of the German War Machine, victoriously driving through the Owl forests…
Staff Notes:
Accepted. Bit hesitant to accept as a captain. But considering we don't have any; accepted. History was great, sample could use a bit more work though.
