The familiar stench of the French landscape thickened over the lay of the land. Although in all fairness, it was a pleasant enough day outside. Heydrich gazed up directly into the sky to spot the direction of the sun, perhaps hoping to better get an idea of what time of the day it was without disturbing the focus of his men. Their rhythmic chants had already implanted in his brain. It made him feel secure, and more importantly it kept him from drifting into his own thoughts, to an extent.
He and a squad of ten men, have been ordered to do a clean sweep of an area, to check if there were any adversaries, but more importantly; resistance members. The capture of this area went through quickly and successfully. However quick it might have been, it was not efficient enough; as the reason he was here was because of its faults. It was a sort of rushed territorial control, where they knocked out a few major buildings in the area that opposed them and called it their own. To some extent it matched with the style of warfare they used at the time, but unfortunately it did not do that good of a job. Although this area was relatively unexplored, Heydrich did not expect anything dangerous. He was although braced for maybe a small militia attack. After all his position here was more or less leading a glorified patrol group.
The road suddenly slowly started directing upwards, not steep enough for someone to notice immediately, but enough for a soldier who's been walking for a while. He beckoned the rest of the soldiers to stop. He called up two of them and motioned them to go up ahead and scout out the area first. He waited as he watched the two scouts run up ahead and scout the area. One of them sat there, trying to get a better view by using his hand to block out the sun while the other one started to jog back to Heydrich.
"It's a town, sir!" Let out Lukas, still breathless from his run back.
"I see, move in soldiers. Ready your weapons. I've heard resistance members are active in this area."
The men suddenly looked like they had a shot of adrenaline pumped into all of them. Whether it was eagerness or paranoia he did not care. As long as they were focused, he was happy. All the men walked forward with weapons in hand, Heydrich first caught a sight of it and took out his binoculars. He started counting the number of buildings slowly. He motioned for the men to follow him to the side as they got closer.
Ambush? No.
He moved stopped as they reached around the space in front of the first building. He to form themselves near the building while Heydrich kicked it open with the help of one other private, before entering it in an orderly fashion. As soon as everyone had established himself in the building. He ordered one man to open up the map of the area and set it on top of the countertop. Heydrich gathered around the table and browsing through. Halfway into staring, he suddenly pulled him eyes off the map and proceeded to take off his binoculars. He threw it to one of the men as soon as he was sure he was going to have enough reaction time to get it. He pushed through the crowded room and stood in the doorway.
"Rolf, go over there." Pointing hesitantly over to a location, instructing him further on what to do. "If anything happens, fire three distinct shots into the air. Try to report back if you do see anyone. And if anyone catches you. Fire the shots. Don't come back."
He paced backwards to the map, trying to find out the location to help him plan where he was to go next. He told the men to shut down the door, but ordered another to slightly open the windows, he wanted to hear if anything happened. Heydrich still unsatisfied, but having no other options, went back to the drawing board to try to figure out his next move.

OOC:Sorry about the length, I am still a bit rusty.~Walt
The sun was high in the sky as Walter walked through the brush on the side of the road. The 1st Armoured Division would be rolling through this area in the next few days since they had come ashore. The 69th Armoured Regiment’s 1st Battalion was tasked with the scouting of the area and making sure it was safe. The commander was Captain Walter Gunther. In the early morning Walter had awoken and found that he was to start the mission. He immediately grabbed ten men to follow him on the mission. He walked with a slight spring to his step, hoping to get over this quickly, he did not like the fighting in this land. The fighting of the war in the land of those who did not deserve it.
The grass was up to their waists, while they marched through it in tan uniforms. Walter had his new carbine slung over his shoulder. The new rifle was said to be better than the Garand, though it looked weaker. When he saw a city appear before him. With that, he unslung his rifle and shouldered it. ”Jimmy, keep your squad behind me, we will reach the side of that building and check it out from there.” Walter ordered as he began a quick jog to the wall of a building. The bricks were layered with small amounts of cement between them. Walter had all the men line up against the wall. He peered around the corner into the city center. ” No one’s there. Alright, Nathan, Mike, and Jordan, stay here at this building. The rest of you follow me.” He ordered as he motioned to go to the cement wall.
With quick movements he took the other seven soldiers over to the wall. ”Alright, we’ll go over one at a time to get inside. Last man on this side goes back to the others.” Walter ordered in a quiet voice as he stood on the open hands of a soldier and climbed over the wall, landing on the other side with a dull noise. With that he quickly ran to the cover of a bank wall when he noticed a solid gate fenced the area off from intruders. Reshouldering his carbine he waited for the rest of the unit to reach him. When they did reach him, Walter gave a halt sign. ”Alright, Jimmy, take Watkins and open the left hand gate so our guys can get in here, hopefully it is bullet proof, my instincts are telling me to not trust this. When you get them all here, go into that structure, we’ll get it open.” Walter ordered as he took the remaining four men with him, walking up to the main door and opening it. Funny, its unlocked. he thought as he went in with the other men, checking all the corners.
The men outside had opened the left hand gate only, while giving a signal for the four others to come to them. The four others came quick walking, checking their sides, and went through the gate, with the final men closing it, but not locking it, and running inside the building. “Alright, your four, I want you to go behind the counter and keep a watch on the front door. You two, keep your sights on that back door, and you four follow me.” he said as he walked to a corner of the room and noticing a ladder. ”Hendrickson, go up and check it out.” He ordered as the soldier immediately slung his rifle and started going up the ladder, cautiously. On the room from the outside looked like it had little cover, but nice firing angles over the city.

Moderation Post Heydrich's scout witnessed the gate being opened, then witnessed the four men enter through it, before it shut. He also noticed the man on the roof, and as ordered, returned the information to his commanding officer, and is now with them.
Walter's man on the roof, though, saw this scout walk behind the building, and has reported it to Walter. Both sides now know each-other are in the area, and about what area they are in. Casualties: None Map: Click here.-Furey. Edit For My Own Humor: Holy heck, that's where Heydrich was, cause if I knew that, I would've had everyone go over the wall. Hell, this is fun. ~Walter P.S. Furey, I only editted this in, this is way to much fun for me to screw stuff up.Damn, that you posted a scout. -_- But fair play. -Mike

Sliding his finger across the map, Heydrich tried to determine the best route to take from his current position. He had the choice of backing out of the city and on to the road he was on before and taking the route east, which would be more dangerous as it was a much more woody terrain. However Heydrich did not want to take any chances, although he regarded himself as a competent officer, he was also a cowardly one. But more importantly, even though he was hesitant to be in an actual fight. He took the safety of his men seriously, he was proud to say that in his days as an officer; not one soldier has died. Which was impressive, albeit him being in only one real battle. His eyes followed the roads that the map has plotted out for him. Heydrich flinched as he noticed the guard peeping out the window gasped out at him, trying not to make a noise but trying to attract his attention as well. All the men noticed his call for everybody to crouch, leading everybody to jump to the ground immediately with their hands on their helmet as if his words was an explosion. "Something's over there, sir! I think someone is there! But I can't get a clear view." All ten men waited quietly for a few seconds, no one spoke, none uttered a breath. Who could it be? Civilians? Resistance? Bandits? The silence was broken as two distinctive knocks erupted from the back door. Heydrich tapped on the shoulders of three men and beckoned them to follow him as he made his way to the door at the back, still crouched. He reached his arm out to grab the knob. Hoping that the door could be opened from inside he gave it a swing. He let out a sigh as he reached for his issue knife and tried to weaken the hinges on the door using the butt of the knife. Rusted wood made it a bit easier to open it. He smiled in satisfaction as he moved on to the second one. He struck it once. Nothing. Twice? He did not want to exert so much energy on a menial task as he puts his knife away and took out his MP44 and leaned against the countertop as he aimed it at the door. From what he believed, being a pessimist was one of the reasons he was alive. Paranoia was not that bad of a trait if you were smart. Just in case something happened to Rolf and it was someone else. He was ready. He pointed at the door and told the man next to him to bust it open. Heydrich aimed down the sights of his gun hoping for the worst. The eruption of noise back into the atmosphere was a calming sight. He could see the fear in Rolf's eye from the small view from his iron sights. He jolted up throwing his MP44 aside, lurching out of the building and grabbing Rolf by the collar and bringing him into the safety of the building. Heydrich still saw that the private was shocked by the unexpected welcome from someone he met only a few minutes ago. "Sorry private, but you can never be too careful. Remember that. So what was that all about? "Sir! I saw the gate open. Men rushed in. They were armed, like a soldier. I think they were Americans! They're all in the building in the middle!" He gasped barely finishing his sentence as if he was preaching for god. "Did they see us?" Heydrich burst out almost immediately. The soldier shrugged off the question not knowing the answer. "Did they see us!?" Heydrich burst out again, almost angry but kept him timid composure. He stopped interrogating the soldier. There was no point, and they both knew that. He called everybody to step out of the backdoor and out in the open but under the cover of the building.
He used his hands to motion to Rolf to hand him his binoculars back. Heydrich scanned the small area behind the building before it trailed off back into the open again. He knew he couldn't hide anymore, maybe it was time to go on the offensive. Luckily his scout had picked up valuable information. The enemy was holed up in the main building in town. A town centre? The governing building? He shrugged off thoughts about that as he moved on to thinking up a plan. He didn't know if it was going to work, but he decided to give it a try nonetheless. Assembling everyone under the cover of the building he pieced a plan together in his mind.
"Alright. You and you, get stationed here. Leon and Lukas, I want you to stay here with me. You three in there. And finally, you three go all the way over there and position yourselves facing the building. Actually, one of you stay here with Lukas and Leon, just in case. Until we can learn more about the enemy we need to stay stationary and establish an advantage over them. Shoot anything that moves near the building. I don't want them getting smart on us" He was pretty sure that they were the enemy, whoever they were. He wiped the sweat off his brow as he watched the men get into their positions, he looked at the three men he ordered to stay back."You three have a different job. Follow me!"
He motioned the three men as he moved onwards with a grin, taking back his MP44. [/blockquote]

Moderation Post Heydrichs men have dispersed throughout different buildings, and have been ordered to shoot the enemy on sight if they see him. With Walter's scout moving around up top, eventually they noticed him, and fired upon him. This forced him to return inside the bank.
They(Heydrich's troops) are all anxious to fire, and may be a bit trigger happy to the movements of things like Birds, Squirrels, Rocks, and the occasional wild pig wearing a top hat and Moustache. Casualities: None Map: Has not Changed since last mod-mark. -Furey.
