Dust blew across the desert landscape. Animals would have been here, except for the fact of the roaring sound of an engine going across the terrain. In the turret opening stood Captain Walter Gunther, wearing the standard garb of a tanker. His goggles were on top of his head with a thick layer of sand over them. As he was standing in the turret, he was thinking about if what he had done was right. Walter had given command of the battalion to his executive officer. "Wiktor, I am taking part of Able Company out. Corporal Steinert will be with me. because of my absence, you will take command of the unit until I return."The scene kept running through his mind. Of course he did the right thing. Wiktor was a good officer. With that in mind, Walter was able to rest assured that he made the right choice. With that on mind, Walter ducked back into the tank. "Cut the engine, we need to speak to the infantry, and take a break." he ordered. "Exit out the back hatch." he added. His hands reached up as he climbed out of the hatch. Right leg first, he thought as he passed his leg out the hatch and on to the outer tank. It was a good thing he had rubber soled boots, because the outside of the tank was steaming hot. Walter jumped off of the tank, causing a cloud of sand to blow up where he landed. The infantry had walked a long side the tank. They were tired, but could still fight. Walter had not seen any Axis forces so far that day. "Alright, take a break and keep hydrated." he said to the soldiers. As this happened he looked around for any sign of the enemy. Walter still had his headset on, he was waiting to hear any chatter on the radio waves while driving to this area. That was how he had tracked a German unit for the day. Walter's green eyes squinted together as he looked along the other side of the pass. Sand was kicking up sand everywhere. Walter then walked back to the tank and plugged his headset in so he could speak on the Allied frequency. "This is Iron Sides Six Nine Baker One Able, we are at a pass and requesting any Allied patrols to converge on our position." Hopefully other soldiers would get that, and converge on their position. It had been two hours since the group had arrived at the pass. "Alright, Daniel, I want you to take ten men, and the bazooka, and head up the right side of this pass. If there are any German units in the area, they will have a vehicle. Remember, we are in enemy territory, keep your eyes peeled for any movement. Only fire the bazooke when you have a clear shot. With any information about the fighting, send a runner back to me. Dismissed." Walter then walked back towards the tank. "The rest of you, get ready for combat. You take the .50 cal and wait over there for further orders." he said while pointing over at the left side of the pass. The crew of the tank moved back in through the back hatch. Walter climbed up the turret and mounted the .50 cal MG on the top while inside the turret. He still looked around the area for any movement. The temperature was dropping, and the tank started up again. Walter ducked into the tank. 75mm shells lined the inside, in the commander's seat he aimed down a periscope toward the pass. Walter looked through the tank , the crew was tired, causing him to open a small container and took a drink. The smell of coffee wafted through the tank. Walter passed the canteen through the tank. Walter opened the top of the tank as the cool night breeze whipped his face. He scanned the area for any clouds of sand. His eyes wandered until he was looking behind the tank. A cloud of sand had arisen, Walter ducked into the tank and grabbed his carbine, and jumped off the tank, creating a cloud of sand as he landed. His muscles hadn't fully stopped working, because he could still run. His legs in full motion, Walter ran in the direction of the kick up. The sound was that of a jeep, and Allied jeep. Within seconds the jeep came to a halt. On the shoulder of the driver were stripes of a First Sergeant. No one else was in the jeep. Walter walked around to the passenger seat. "Sergeant, I expect that you received my message. Drive over to the tank down there, and I will fill you in." Walter said as he sat down and the Sergeant started towards the tank. "Now to fill you in. My unit has been following a German unit all day. We suddenly lost their tracks. We were left here. Now I have elven men on that hill there." Walter pointed toward Dan's position, "Now I expect for the unit to come through here. Sergeant, I want you to take that group of men, except for two, and move up this hill, and set up a defensive position with that GM. Now, Corporal Steinert will see you, I want you to use signals and let him know. For your flare gun, fire a white flare for that you spotted the enemy, fire a red flare for when any anti-tank units have been taken out. Also, for the .50 cal, take a box of tracer rounds. If you have a target that you want me to fire on, light it up. Good luck. Also, any more questions, send a runner back to my tank."Walter turned back towards the tank. He silently used hand signals to the two soldier that were left to man the jeep and move it. One was to be on the MG, and the other was to be using the jeep for cover. Hopefully the Germans would come this way. Walter was going to leave the position if no enemy contact could be made. The excruciating heat of the desert during the day was gone with the cold weather in the night. Walter had walked back to the tank and climbed in. His hands pushing against the metal hull of the tank. clambering up the side of the tank, his left hand pulled open the hatch. He unslung his carbine, and passed it down to a crew member. His legs move up and into the tank in one swift motion, the same motion they were used too. His body fell into the commander's chair. He ordered the tank to move over to a spot with more protection. Now, he would have to fight the anxiety of waiting for the sound of gunfire. "Hey, Sanders, hand me the tracer rounds for the fifty." Sanders reached down and handed a dark green case pu to Walter. Quickly Walter opened the hatch and removed the normal rounds and switched the .50 cal MG to tracer rounds. As he went back inside the tank, he locked the hatch from the inside. He then ordered Howard to close the little slit for seeing through. All vision would be through the commanders periscope and the gunner's sights. _______________________________ Map: img687.imageshack.us/img687/2289/africa1.png

(note: All speech has been translated to English, for convenience Also, its not as good or as long as Walter’s don’t hold it against me, please? I wont be on til Monday probably.) It had all started out as a normal morning. After a drop a few months ago, Rolf, and 14 of his men, Cpl. Austerlitz, and 13 other men, most of them veterans of at least one battle, but a few of them had been added on later, and were not experienced in actual combat. Anyway, after being dropped in, the platoon had performed well, gaining ground, and not experiencing any losses. Then they had rested in a forward camp, able to take a hot shower, and eat hot food for the first time in a while. Then suddenly, the unexpected happened. It had happened in the morning, right after breakfast. Some of the men were singing to Lili Marlene, and Rolf was tempted to join in, when SS Schütz Judas Speer ran up to him, out of breath, and barely able to say the message he had come to say. “Sir! Dust cloud on horizon. Confirmed Allied tank, and infantry soldiers. On their present track, they will run right over us.” Rolf sighed, and got up out of his chair. He climbed to the top of a dune, and looked out over the horizon, seeing said dust cloud. “Alright men. We move out now. We have no choice. Leave any unnecessary items behind. We travel light. Use the stove to burn everything else.” So, Rolf’s men had left a smoldering shower and burnt food lying in the desert, when the Allies came. Frequent reports came from Speer, who had kind of become an unofficial scout for the platoon. Rolf still regretted losing five of his men temporarily to broken bones sustained in an accident with barrels of gas, right before they had left for Africa. But, Rolf made it work, and was able to be just as successful without the injured men. By the time the sun was starting to set, everybody was tired, hungry, and thirsty. Marching all day in the desert is, obviously, hard work, that could kill many people. But luckily, Rolf’s men were well trained, and didn’t gripe at all. Rolf was looking for somewhere to stop, and saw a pass in the distance. “Men, I see a good pass in the distance. We will stop there for the night. It’s about another half hour away. Survive until then, and you can eat.” The men let out a short cheer, and marched more eagerly behind Rolf. It was exactly 28 minutes, 14 seconds later that they arrived at the far side of the pass, away from the dust cloud of death. It hadn’t been seen in a while, so Rolf thought that maybe they had lost track of them. By now, it was getting dark, and cold, and Rolf had put on his winter clothes. Everyone at base thought it stupid that Rolf’s platoon was packing winter clothes for the desert. But Rolf knew that desert nights were as cold as Russian winters sometimes, so Rolf was prepared for the night, as was his platoon. “If only we had a radio,” Rolf said to Cpl. Austerlitz. “We could get some help. Somebody with panzers or panzershrecks that could blow up the tanks. Go to sleep, Dominic. I’ll keep watch.” Dominic saluted, and walked away a few meters to sleep. img22.imageshack.us/img22/5379/africa1t.png

Furey bounced with the rumbling of the jeep as it rolled across the sand dunes of North Africa. He held a pair of binoculars in his hands, watching the horizon as the sun set, through his sunglasses he’d ‘requisitioned’ from an air corporal. He watched the surroundings as the jeep neared an allied camp under construction.
He wasn’t too sure why he was there; he was told that he was going to overview the installment of a new American Airfield, and a few Flak Guns for the airfields defense. He looked around at the Sherman Tanks, men running back and forth around the blank desert, it didn’t seem fit for an airfield to be placed there. He pulled his jeep to a stop, and stepped off of the jeep, and light a cigarette.
He blew perfect smoke loops as he breathed out the smoke of the Cigarette, and watched the men running back and forth. A Corporal saluted him as he walked by, and he realized that he was the one and only air Officer there, and his white uniform was a stark difference from the desert combat uniforms of all of the men standing there. He took off his pilots visor cap, and held it under his arm as he dropped his cigarette, stomping it into the sand, and looked around.
He was greeted by a Army Captain, apparently of the First Armored Division, and listened as he told him to go over to his Awaiting Sherman tank, and wait for him to return with news of the situation. He did so, and walked over to the Large Sherman, the Commander was no-where to be seen for the second, , and read the side of it, labeled “Kraut Krusher.”. He smiled; he’d dealt with the Germans before, but only in the air for awhile. The information he had been told at the start was that there were no Germans at all in the area, but you could never be too sure with Allied Information, They had been wrong up in Norway, at the Telemark Base, and they could be wrong here too. He hoped there were no Germans around, but at the same time he longed for it, he hadn’t shot a German with his Thompson for quite some time, and he was longing to feel the heat of his barrel on his back, being held up by the sling, once again.
He looked towards the pass again, he had a bad feeling about what would go on that night in that pass. He pulled out his Flare Gun, and held it in his hands, as the sun slowly began to disappear behind the mountain pass. Suddenly, the Captain returned behind him, and began to speak. He turned around, and listened to the plans that the Captain had already laid out for the rest of the men. He was to take a group of men up the cliff, and set up a sort of Grenade booby-trap. He nodded, and loaded his Thompson, Saluting the Captain, and taking the Fourteen Men up to the cliff. He looked around as they reached the top of the cliff, the sun was finally setting below the horizon, and he saw small amounts of dust. He pulled out his Flare gun, and set it down in the sand, then pulled out his grenade.
One of the men assigned to his Platoon for the battle handed him the wire that he had been given, and two small metal rods. Furey nodded, taking them from him, and carrying them, along with the grenades, down to a portion of the cliff on the Enemy side. He set the metal rod down into the sand, and tied the wire around it in a strong Knot. He fed the wire along the ground, and halfway through, he et the wire through the pinhole of the Grenade, then continued until he reached the edge of the cliff, and pushed the last small metal pole into the ground, securing the end of the wire to it.
One his walk back, he watched his men, he had begun to miss the days that he found on land, while it was much crueler, and probably much more dangerous, with the shelling, but somehow it seemed more personal, and created tighter bongs with the men that he worked with, instead of flying alone in the cockpit of a P-47 or P-40, through the blue skies of Africa and Germany. He watched where the rest of the men were, His precious White jeep getting sand blasted, and The Sherman tank, their only Armored support.

*< and > are used to represent translated from German.
Niklas looked around the back of the SdKfz and the six other men in with him. They were itching for a fight, he could see it in their eyes. The fire had been let to coal for to long, and these men had fury in their fingers, ready to fire the shot. It had been to long since the last fight the squad had been in, and it looked that even a simple chance to run across a small patrol had them fired to fight.
<Adrian, please recount the orders for me one more time.> Niklas asked the front gunner and radio operator. <I want to make sure nothing goes off.> The soldier looked up at Niklas and nodded once in understanding.
<All we're suposed to do is meet up with Oberscharführer Rolf Blauvelt, from there we will be getting further instructions.> It was obvious in the soldiers tone he wasn't as jumpy as a fight as Albrecht or Dierk. Niklas looked at this as a good thing, a jumpy gunner meant that they would be out of ammo sooner than he would like.
<Coming up on Axis troops sir.> This time it was the driver, Jason, who spoke. At this Niklas unclipped himself from his seat in the safety of the transport and stood in the rear mounted gun to get a good look at the troops coming up in his view. He kept his lift hand over his eyes to deflect as much flying dust and sand as he could, his right hand placed on the but of the mounted Mg42.
Soon enough the half-track came into the proximity of the other troops, the fact that they hadn't just blundered into an Allied controlled area at least reassured Niklas of the competence of his driver, but he was worried, he wasn't supposed to meet them until after they pass through the bottle neck in the mountains.
Niklas had Jason park and climbed out the top. He permitted the men to exit the back and stretch their legs, but made sure they stayed sharp, and not just trigger happy. <Keep the engine running though...Something isn't right.> He quickly met the eyes of Dierk to put down the soldiers hope of a fight, or at least repress his eagerness.
After asking a few soldiers, he located Rolf. <Sir!> He snapped off a salute. <What is the current situation?>

Daniel along with 20 other men had been marching with the tank all day. It spun up sand and dirt as well as spat out diesel fumes. Daniel ordered the men to use their bandannas to put over their faces to try and filter out the sand at least. He thought "How those boys do it all day inside that giant oven?" The desert was unrelenting with it's hot temperatures during the day and freezing temperatures at night. The sweat from the day would chill a trooper at night, so Daniel said to try and change socks as often as possible.
Finally the tank slowed to a halt, and their captain Walter Gunther popped out of the hatch and said something into the radio. They had been tracking a German unit all day that was a "manageable size" which just meant that they had no idea how big. However recently it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that they had lost the unit.
While the men were changing socks and re hydrating, a jeep pulled up with a single man inside. "what, that's our reinforcements?" He saw the man and recognized him at once. They had trained together back in the states, but before he got a chance to talk with him Walter gave out orders. Orders meant that they had found the unit once again, and that they were getting ready for some combat. As he picked his 10 men and had them drop their packs for combat mode, he checked his Grease gun hoping that it wouldn't jam in combat.
As the men got to the ridge on the right flank Daniel saw the jeep pull up behind them. "Alright, solid firepower to fall back on." thought Daniel. He said "Fan out to cover the pass, and try to stay hidden." He looked across the pass to see Furey do the same thing with his men. Now as the sun fell and painted the sky with brilliant colors, he waited for Jerry to show up.

[OOC: I have made the tops of the hills, relatively flat that a tank can be on. Also, I checked with my dad (an ex paratrooper and tanker (101st Airborne and 2nd Armoured) about what a tank can go up. He says a Sherman would be able to go up a 45 Degree slope, or any slope that is as steep as I think these cliffs are. Also, the smoke round that is fired off, has no real use, so it has not hurt the Axis side in any way.] Waiting, one of the hardest things to do as a soldier, but for Walter Gunther, this was an old task. Having fought in Africa before under the command of General Patton, he had learned not to be afraid of the desert. ”James, do you see anything?” Walter asked the gunner of the tank who was aiming down the periscope of the 75 millimeter gun. ”Sorry, sir, no visuals...wait! Smoke cloud from a distance. It is about 30 seconds old, we have incoming enemies. No direction can be seen.” The private replied. Despite being a low rank, James Turner was an experienced tank gunner. Where could that group be going, they must have thought it was too quiet for normal settings in this area, Walter said to himself. That is when it came to him. A flash from when he was last in Africa. The words Patton had said to him when he pulled up in a jeep. “What happened to you soldier?” the General questioned as a blood soaked Lieutenant stepped out of a jeep with a strange look in his eyes. The officer looked at who was speaking, and on instinct immediately went to attention. ”General, I survived the assault at the pass last night. I am 1st Lieutenant Walter Gunther of the 69th Armoured Division’s Charlie Company.” answered the ragged Lieutenant. Are there any other survivors? asked Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Backster, the commander of the Regiment. Before Walter had the chance to reply the General said something new. ”Lieutenant, were the Germans able to break through?” Knowing he wouldn’t be cut of Walter replied. “Sir, I am the only survivor that I know of. My tank was the last one standing. We took out three Panzers and four half-tracks. Later we were taken out by foot soldiers with anti-armour weapons. My crew fought them back even after our tank was on fire.” Seeing that as an appropriate response, Walter finished. ”Well, Lieutenant, it seems you are the only one with balls in the 1st Armoured. I am promoting you to Captain for your actions. Immediately get a new crew and take on the oncoming German advance.” the General said while turning his back to the Lieutenant. How could the General act like that, even after all the men Walter had known were killed, and all this General could do was promoting him? Why hadn’t the men who had given their lives been awarded? Walter could only repeat what had happened in his mind. That is when it struck him. It wasn’t the Panzers that took out his tank, it was the infantry on the ridge that did. What would stop them from doing that this time? he said to himself as he sat with a look of awe on his face. Allen, Joe, Miller, Hank, I won’t let it happen again. Not if I saw the mistake and let it happen again. Walter said silent to himself. ”Howard, new plan. I will go talk to the infantry on Dan’s side. I want you to move the tank that way. When I am done, I will come back down and commandeer the Sherman. Fire a smoke shell down the center. Walter said as he slid down and grabbed his carbine, and maneuvered to a side hatch. ”Sir, be careful. We’re counting on you.” Howard said with a grin under his moustache. I won’t make this mistake again, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I did. Walter told himself as he stepped out onto the sand. As soon as his feet hit the ground, he started sprinting towards the side that Dan was on. He heard a shot being fired by the tank as he ran. Following a build up of smoke appeared. Soon he came to the hill and started running up it while moving to the infantry stationed there. Soon he jumped into one of the positions nearest Dan. Corporal, the enemy is moving up the ridges on one of these sides. I am going to take a wild guess that it is the other side. We saw old sand cloud in the distance. I want you to be ready to move down this side and follow the tank.” Walter then turned to Furey’s side. With his hands, he signaled that he wanted Furey to fire a flare directly down the side of his ridge. He also wanted the fifty cal. to be moved to point that way. He also stated that he wanted the fifty to fire tracer rounds all over the area to give them an idea of where the enemy was in the darkness of night. Walter then started sliding down the hill towards the ground where the tank was awaiting him. Upon reaching the ground he pulled out his stick of camouflage paint. He then started rubbing it all over the white star and circle around the front of the tank. Upon finishing, he ran to the way he got out of the tank and got back in. ”Alright boys, pray to what God you have, for you might need his help. I’m going to see you all through this. That’s an order for me.” He said as he issued the order to go full steam forward, with the barrel turned to the right. Infantry started massing at the side of the ridge, and huge amounts of light being cast off to the ridge on the right. Alright, before we go totally out of cover, fire off three regular shells, don’t really aim, just fire around the area.” Walter ordered. ”Yes Sir.” James replied as he fired off the three rounds, all landing in different spots. I hope the Germans don’t believe that because a few rounds flew their way that the tank is going to stay here. At that moment two explosions went of simultaneously to the rear of the Allied side. This was the two infantrymen on the jeep throwing grenades at the side of the hill blowing chunks out of it. For something a tank could go up. ”Go in reverse, once we get back, head up that hill. Even if it is still steep, we can move the tank up it now. If not fire a round off.” Walter ordered. The Sherman quickly went backwards toward the hill Walter had mentioned. Soon though, the tank went forward at the hill, the treads on these tanks could go up this stuff, which is what they were made for. Near the top, the tank fired off a shot to equal out the surface. Upon reaching the top, the tank turned to look at the area that the infantry were firing at. ”Open fire with the machine guns. When Furey fires off a red flare at a spot, we will open fire with the big guns.”_____________________________________ Map: img109.imageshack.us/img109/7497/africa2.pngMap Notes: Grey circle is where grenades went off. If you say NPC's don't have grenades, then tank shot way. Red circle is tanks position when firing the three shots. Yellow Circle is the area of which the targets were for the tank. OOC: Also, the infantry on Furey's side have started firing randomly in the direction of the Axis side.

****MODERATION POST****
- Alright. Allies have managed to keep everything on track up to now. Many signs of the upcoming fight from both the sides. (The added vehicle noise from both sides /Grenades /Smoke) This had led to the allied soldiers being more eager for battle, overconfidence might be an issue with intelligence they have and vehicle and commander reputation, while Axis soldiers have become more careful and are more cautious.
- With the shooting at the Axis from the east of map. The axis soldiers have noticed this and some of the soldiers from both Niklas's and Rolf's have fled down the hill leaving them disorganized but have begun shooting at Daniel's men on the other cliff by an instinctive counter attack. One shot grazed the shoulder of one of his men forcing him to use his left hand to shoot. He will be OK. The sudden movement of the axis troops surprisingly left Daniel's men confused.
- The first and the second tank shot hit the wall of the mountain and it crumbled down. The Axis troops on the bottom were unaffected by this but will need to be organized soon before they start panicking. The third shot hit shot over the group of axis slightly and killed two of the men on the far side. And pushed the others back slightly (Still on the cliff).
- As for Niklas's Half track and his men's position. Since he has not revealed it, I will pick a spot for him. And Furey and his men doesn't have a view of the men that are currently below the cliff.
- For Axis Casualties while the unexpected fleeing from the troops to the commanders left most of them sore and bruised. They will get better in the round after this one. They can still move and shoot and function but they will be less efficient for this turn.
- Axis Soldiers now know about the tank, Daniel's men and they know about Furey's position but how many men or other details are still unknown with all the distractions.
NOTE: Feel free to notice me about anything I have missed. (Any attacks or not) or feel free to point out my mistakes.

Rolf was almost asleep, when Rottenführer Schuster walked up to him. Rolf got up, and saluted back. "Good evening, Niklas. I was hoping for some more guests." Rolf looked over the horizon, and pointed in the general direction of behind him. "Over there somewhere, are Allied infantry, with about 1 to two tanks." Rolf saw smoke clouds coming over the horizon. "Don't worry, just listen to what I say, and we'll be victorious." A few seconds after Rolf said this, the area around them was lit up by tank rounds and grenades. 'Great', thought Rolf. 'They found us, and are going to kill us all, before I even get to fight. Wait. The Sherman could hit us, if it knew where we were at. They're trying to find us, not hit us.' Rolf ran over to the men, and grabbed his rifle. He took a quick head count, and saw that a few of his men were missing, and the rest were quickly getting disorganised. "Men! Stop lounging around! You're Fallschrimjägers!" Rolf's men quickly got together, but they weren't totally there. Rolf ran over to the edge of the cliff, which had been changed by the Sherman, probably to make it more accessable to the tank. There were a few of his men down there. "Hey! Get up here now!" The men at the bottom got up, but like the men already there, weren't operating at their best. "We'll hold here, I can see some infantry coming. They'll be easy for us to handle. Listen for the tank though. If you hear it coming, we'll go down the cliff. It's not that high, and you know how to break your falls." Rolf's men formed a battle line, and hoped for the support of Niklas, and his squad. img177.imageshack.us/img177/9301/africa32.jpg

((Seeing as it has been more than two days I'm assuming he lost his post.))
Niklas ducked as the debris fell nearby, <Sound off!> He looked up and braced himself behind some of it. He got names back from all but one of his men, <Dam it, wheres Kappel!?> He rounded his unit up and looked over their faces. <He's down sir...> He wasn't sure who spoke, but he had just lost a soldier. <Dam it!>
To reevaluate the situation was Niklas' next important task. <Sir, Blauvelt, I'm sending a messenger to my men in the halftrack.> He looked at the others and pointed at Klein, the young man looked rather shaken up, <Get on back to the truck and tell them to move!> He then ordered Bauer and Medzger to move up with Blauvelt's men and fire at Furey's men. <I want them closer to us but to stay off the mountain, lay some suppressive fire on the other hill if they can find out where those dam Allies are.>
As Klein stumbled off, coughing from the dust now in the air, and Bauer and Medzger fired Niklas looked to Rolf, <What now, we need hire ground.> He wasn't about to lose another soldier to go scout a better position though.

- First of all, With Rolf's brave counterattack to the allies, spearheading it to Furey's position. However with his men not quite still in it managed only one hit. One of Furey's men were struck and that particular person needs to be taken to a safe place within two turns or else he is going to die because he was untended to.
- Niklas has sent two men to help Rolf. And your Halftrack is ready and geared to move and has already begun firing on the cliff which Dan was on. However the two MG42's on the halftrack are only able to suppress the edge of the hill, forcing Dan's men to go back in fear of getting caught in the fire.
- With Rolf's counterattack although he managed to surprise Furey, Rolf and his men's position are exposed to all the allies on the map. With the number of Rolf's men firing on Furey his men are pinned down.
- Regarding to Furey's next post. I'll allow him to post next, mostly because my rule was to stop inactive people. Furey is just lazy.
NOTE: Feel free to notice me about anything I have missed. (Any attacks or not) or feel free to point out my mistakes.
My first detailed modmark got accidently deleted. So please forgive me for this vague modmark. And sorry if I got your positions wrong on the map Niklas. It's hard to guess.

Post by Furey "Blondie" Campellone on Feb 1, 2010 14:09:14 GMT -5
As the night slowly began to envelope the battlefield, Furey looked around, not hearing, or seeing, a thing. He looked at his men, and nodded at them, they were all in high spirits, for now. Suddenly, fire began to break out, he watched one of his men get hit in the shoulder, and yelled “GET DOWN!”. He looked towards the point of the muzzle blasts, and picked up his flare gun, fiddling with a white flare, and loading it into his gun, then looked up into the sky, and fired it, watching the battlefield suddenly light up. He watched his men, and began to bark orders at them, saying “MAINTAIN FIRE ON THEM!” or “KEEP YOUR HEADS DOWN!” Meanwhile, he slowly moved through the sand, carrying a satchel charge in his arms, and soon, he was at the point he had meant to be at from the start, then began to bury it, trying to keep his head down as he buried the charge, and the wires, into the sand. Once this was done, he crawled back, holding the small coil of wire in his hand as he moved along Once he got back, He picked up his Thompson, and began to fire towards the figures of the German men, their bodies light up by the flare that was glowing in the sandy night sky. He remembered what the Tank Commander had told him, and pulled out his flare gun once more, getting rid of the discharged round, and loading a Red flare, and aimed it carefully at the Crowd of German Soldiers, and fired, watching it land in the middle of them. Soon, he heard the sounds of his Allied tank firing a shot towards him, and at the German troops.(That was shot with Walters permission) He looked towards his men, watching them all line up evenly, laying on the sand, in a sort of Firing Squad. He smiled, and continued to fire. He picked up his grenade, and, pulling the pin out, threw it with all his might towards the ground of German Soldiers. He watched one of the men with a Browning begin to set it up, and soon, began to fire back at the German Troops (The man with the gray line in him.) *Note*: The yellow circle is where the tank shot, the red is where the grenade was thrown. i45.tinypic.com/2yvw6l0.jpg*Special map sent to Heydrich*

****MODERATION POST****
- Alright first off, Furey fired his flare. A few of the axis spotted this and fled down the hill as Rolf commanded. The tank shot hit slightly around the same spot which Furey marked but mostly it made the Axis soldiers stumble nothing major done from the tank.
- Second Furey's grenade killed two since it was thrown to the side/edge of the cliff. With the browning being set up a tad bit late, it still managed a few shots which surprised some Axis trying to get down the hill and made them jump prematurely and now are forced to limp. That three soldiers have a higher chance of dieing from gunfire obviously since they will find it hard to avoid but their shooting is fine.
- Next post is Dan's. Reminder to the Axis that you guys still have a Panzerschreck and an extra MG40 while the Allies have a Bazooka. ( The two MG40's suppressing Dan on the hill are the ones on Niklas's halftrack.)

The halftrack wasn't doing much until it unleashed a deadly spray of 7.92mm lead straight at Daniel's hill. His men panicked and fell back from the edge of the cliff and kept their heads down. Daniel had a tough time getting his men together, but he was able to get their attention again. "Alright men I'm going to take down that halftrack, but I need all of you to cover me and the bazooka man. Start laying down a base of fire as soon as the smoke builds, and keep your heads down. wait until the smoke builds and mark where the halftrack is with a rock in front of you so you know where to aim, but they don't." Daniel first rigged one of his satchel charges and rigged it to blow with the wire spool cradled in his left arm as he ran back half standing to his men. " Alright, As soon as the smoke builds I want you (pointing to the nearest man) to detonate the explosives, give them a little something to look at." The sun started to set fast now, and the enemy was right where they wanted them. Daniel heaved his smoke grenade so it would obscure the halftrack's view of them and give the signal. He ran and slid down the cliff to his bazooka man who was hidden and said "Alright were going to fire three shots fast, two into the halftrack, and one at that squad across the way. You shoot, I load." He heard an "alright sir" in response. "This thing loaded?" "yes sir." The smoke grenade was now taking action and then he heard and felt an enormous explosion from his TNT. without delay he saw the men retake their positions on the edge of the cliff since the smoke was partially concealing them and the Germans were confused by the explosion. He saw each man put out a rock to mark where the halftrack was and then open fire. Daniel had no time to watch his men operate their rifles, so he signaled the man to move up so the back blast didn't burn them. He then tapped his helmet to signal fire. he didn't see if the shot his the halftrack, but instantly he loaded and wired another rocket and told the man to fire again. he saw the smoke billow out of the metal tube, and once again he reloaded, and this time the bazooka aimed at the squad of disorganized soldiers. He tapped the man on the head for the last time and then after the rocket left the tube they ran back to their original cover. the fight was getting under way. (The red dot is where the TNT was set off, and the grey dot is where the smoke grenade ended up doing it's thing.) i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq300/ColHesler/Untitled-12-1.jpg

****MODERATION POST****
- Since nobody had a good view of the battlefield because of the smoke. But since Daniel had made his men mark the targets before. His bazooka man did manage to get the halftrack. Although it hit the near ground, it damaged the wheels and rolled the truck around to a side. The men in it are still safe since the process was very slow and managed to get out.
- The two MG40's on the back are still not harmed and can still be used. The halftrack is not totally destroyed and will be fixed automatically if you win the battle and retrieve it. It can only be used for cover now.
- The second shot hit hard to the front of the tank blasting it again. The damage can only be assessed after the battle. The driver was the main one that took the damage and he is dead. And so was the back gunner. You can still shoot the recovered MG40's on it. But now you need to put one of your own men.
- The third shot was actually and instinct shot as the bazooka men had actually no clear target as he was still waiting for the smoke to clear up. He simply shot and it was actually far south of the map. The bazooka man has two bazooka rounds left. It is going to take a whole turn to ready the bazooka again because the man is working solo without a loader.
Walter's UP!
