What are your favorite war movies? Also, let's make a list of all the war movies we can think of. My all time favorite WWII movie is Saving Private Ryan.

I REALLY want to see Band of Brothers, but I haven't been able to yet.
As for other war movies... Let's see how many I can think of.
The Longest Day Battle of the Bulge Midway Tora Tora Tora The Sands of Iwo Jima
^ all those are good solid war movies. Some other war movies that I don't consider quite to be the same kind of war movies as the above (but are still good) are...
Where Eagles Dare The Guns of Naverone Force 10 From Naverone
I know there's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I've got the DVD set on hold at the library, but I don't know when it'll come in.
I thought of a couple other war movies (that I haven't seen):
A Bridge to Far (going to see this one really soon) The Thin Red Line

Band of Brothers is really quite good. The lighting and music convey the mood masterfully.

Saving private ryan is top on the list.
The Patriot is great, even though its Revolutionary War rather than WWII.
Btu according to my grandpa who was in the first wave on Omaha Beach, Saving Private Ryan is the closest any movie has every come to reality.

Was Band of Brothers a D-Day movie?
And is the banner theme Band of Brothers? I've never seen it, but I plan to soon.

Band of Brothers outlines the experience of an Airborne company of US soldiers. It starts with their training in Fort Benning and ends with their occupation of Germany and Austria. The D-Day airdrop is included in there, though.
