You really think Saving Private Ryan is historical accurate? You really think so? Theres even one scene with a american soldier shooting at a tank with a rifle!! The tank commander gets scared, jumps out of his tank and runs away. The tank did not even get damaged. Every second shot a american soldier fires hits the target while the germans would not even hit elephants. I really like the first ten minutes of the movie but the rest is "Hollywood- Crap". Please don't think that I am only writing this because I'm german. I gotta say I love BoB. Although my favourite war movie is "Stalingrad". Most realistic in my opinion. I just love the scene when some men of the company get awarded for their performance in Africa. Greetz.

Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan are two of my favorites, but I really love the Pacific miniseries. In some ways I like it better than the previous two. It really shows the horror of war and what it can do to people.

My favorite war movies are all old, probably ones you guys havent ever heard of, XD. My favorite war time movie ever is called "The Longest Day", and it was extremely good in my opinion. Unlike movies today that show one specific point of the Normandy Invasion, this showed views from British, American, Canadian, and I believe Polish soldiers as they invaded by sea and by air. The movie also happened to get Forty Two Stars

I've actually heard of it. It's a John Wayne movie, which gives me another good reason to watch it. He was a really great actor. Check out "They Were Expendable"--it's another great WWII movie of his about the brave men aboard PT boats in the Pacific.

I heard that "Stalingrad" was a pretty good movie. I think I'm going to check that one out, especially since I'm playing that level in CoD .

I have not seen Stalingrad, I must also look for that one. I think we can all agree that SPR, BoB, and The Pacific are great especially with modern animation and technology. I do however also agree with Furey in that "The Longest Day" is amazing (First WWII movie I ever saw). I also am a big fan of "The Battle Of The Bulge" and a rather new one: "The Hurt Locker". Movies are the best!

I saw part of "The Big Red One" and it was really good. I think I'm gonna buy the book after I watch it.
