[[OOC: David isn't smoking. He only has a cig in his mouth. Unlit. Also very irritating that the staffer is away at this time. For situations like this, back then when I was in other forum RPGs, we would do the following: Screw moderation, we all roleplay as we please, but follow the three golden rules!
-NO GODMODDING: No character is allowed to have superhuman powers or to break the laws of physics.
-NO POWERPLAYING: No roleplayer shall have ANY control of characters belonging to others, this pertains to killing other characters, not giving other characters time to react to one's own attacks, and more. You get the tick.
-BE FAIR: To both the others and one's self. If you really end up sitting next to an atomic bomb and you can't run away, admit that you're screwed, for the sake of realism, refraining from godmodding and so on. After all, if you write well, your character's mishaps and losses might be even more entertaining than the successes.
With these, one doesn't really need much of a moderator's mark. Just a staffer to check around every now and then.
Maps are also not too necessary. If we all write with enough detail, all we need to do is read the previous posts to have a good idea of where and who.
--- Xavier, that what ye did might be considered as powerplaying because you had your characters immediately see the southwestern patrol of men which is supposedly hidden by trees, darkness and has done nothing to attract attention. I have nothing against posts like that because it's war, heheh. Just keep in mind what your character is supposed to know and what not. According to what is written he cannot know where they all landed, all he knows is where fire has been opened, which was both coming from the units spanning from Northwest advancing to the northeast, as well as those in the trench from northeast to southeast. Still, I'd keep all them posts. Back where I came from, if a user took too long to post a responce, he'd lose his turn. Simple and fair as that. Time is money. I'll take the posts into account and consideration. ---
End of my nagging. Think 'bout it, all of you! =3 ]]

((ooc sorry it took me so long to respond)) Bernhard and the men had kept away from the windows and their heads down as the allies peppered the place with a short burst of fire. He and the Corporal had roughly same plan in mind, which was good. It meant Bernhard could trust the man and had no problem letting him follow his instincts and making any improvisitions to any orders he gave. He had watched the corporal lead six men out the "back door" to the tree line. He gripped his rifle and looked to the rest of the men. He counted 60 seconds as soon as the Corporal disappeared from his vision into the darkness and waved his arm. He was the first out the door, in a crouch run, his rifle sweeping to his right his eyes scanning the darkness for any signs of trouble. The man behind him looked to the left, his eyes scanning that direction for trouble and so on. Every man covered every direction with eyes and weapon as they crouch-ran through the darkness in the general direction of the Corporal. Every man took to the woods using the trees as cover, leap-frogging from tree-to-tree once they reached the woods. The Corporal was ahead of them and Bernhard thought he could see them through the trees a few yards away. Xavier was the vanguard, the lead scout in the party. It was up to him to clear the first way. The plan was never fully discussed but it didn't have to be.

[[All from the axis posted, guess an ally will get through.]] Full fourty-five seconds of fire of the proud, arguably better-sounding fire of K98s and G43s in the direct vicinity, coming from where David-Francois left the four (yes, those four dots are all Reinard's troops; If you have a minimap and consider my character's position [and read even more carefully] you'll notice I landed where the others were, though not AS one of the four people marked there.) other american troops. Was about time the nazis defended himself, but also about time the fellow allied would understand how incredibly stupid their tactic was: Leaving the back door of a house full of bogies only 'guarded' by four troops while the huge mass of others sit in a trench on the other side was far from what one would call 'surrounding'.
David-Francois had actually planned to dash over to the house, climb up towards the roof by holding onto the rain pipe and jump in through a window in the top floor of the structure, allowing mélée combat to decide the winner, but since the Nazis had already made their clever move outside of the building, out of the prison they'd be like sitting ducks inside, they were moving where there were the least american soldiers. Through the reddish shades, David-Francois peeked past the tree, noticing just an enemy soldier or two dashing further. He didn't open fire. Who knew how many enemies there were? Were they aware of him already, or were they just running for their lives?
David-Francois stepped away from the tree and dashed deeper in the woods to lower the chances of being targeted and hit by the enemies that could see him.
If only he had binoculars! Or a submachine gun, or grenades! All he had were knives and his revolver, he wouldn't be able to take down more than nine, ten people without needing some sort of help from above, be it the great invisible geezer in the sky or other american troops.
David-Francois had an idea. He pulled out his long combat knife and the bayonet he had, and hopping back two metres from a particularly thick and tall pine tree, he dashed fast to the tree, kicking up and walking up the tree for two steps from the momentum of his dash, and stabbed the two sharp blades into the bark of the tree to keep him up, thus forming two grips to hold on (since he had little else with him, he was able to hold up his weight) and groaning silently he pushed his body up, pulling out the knives, sheathing them and climbing up the tree, hidden by the fir tree's branches and foliage.
From up there he could see enemy troop movements. Two groups. One was at the outskirts of the woods and were rapidly entering. The other was quickly dashing from the back door and following the pointmen. Judging by the numbers, David-Francois could clearly judge: No use without numbers or better equipment. He wouldn't shoot, he wouldn't fight, he wouldn't flee. He'd wait till the allied troops would come near.
Hopefully those he left behind him weren't dead and kept on fighting, their hearts beating for the 'free' world they fought for. [OOC: In case yer worried, Sepp, Notice that in Xavier's post, it does not specifically state that your soldiers are dead. You might very well post them being deceased, or have a staffer judge. I'm for having a chance to keep them mostly alive out of fairness; the post concerning them being attacked was rather brash.]

[It's not written precisely anywhere, neither in the signups nor in this thread, which order the allies are to keep. Another point is, regardless of order, some people are taking more time than they deserve to have some posts made, and I assume trying to speed up the process by adding some sort of activity would let the thread develop further.
Since you insist, I'll follow the specific posting order you just mentioned from now on. Even though a posting order is not flexible enough for things such as combat. Sorry for the long OOC posts as of late.]

Mod Mark
Allies - Chatrousse, you were nearly grazed by some opening fire from the Germans, but go lucky and managed to continue on.
- Several allied soldiers were killed with the initial firing. I'll determine casualties at the end of the firefight.
Axis - Several axis casualties have been inflicted. - Bernhard Dieter, since your men are now out of the house you are prone to the sniper who is on the map.
If Jonathan comes back and makes a post I can be able to do more, but this is where it stands since the attack itself is still fresh.
