Dust went all over the battlefield as grenades went off and tank shells landed causing an even larger cloud. A new sound came into play, not the sound of the German MG42s, but rather the sound of an explosive going off. Corporal Steinert did exactly what he was supposed to do, put up a fire fight towards the vehicle. Now, what would be the best course of action was the thought going through Walter’s mind as he heard another sound of a fifty caliber MG. It must be the jeep, Walter told himself. Suddenly a new sound was discharged. The tankers became uneasy when they realized it was the sound of a bazooka firing. Soon, they heard an explosion and a second shot with another explosion. Cries could be heard. Well, that solves one problem, but the other problem has yet to be dealt with Walter thought. ”Alright, Howard, drive the tank near the edge of the cliff. Make sure it is close enough to give fire support, but not close enough to have anything shot towards us.” Walter said loudly as he looked down his periscope. ”Jimmy, I want you to fire two shots into the opposite cliff above where we saw the enemy disappear.” Walter ordered to the tank gunner, who in turn fired one shell above the infantry. The shock of the impact sent rock tumbling down the opposite side; almost immediately a second shell was loaded in by Mike to be shot near enough to the other impact to cause more damage. The second shot’s explosion caused the same devastation as the first, sending down rocks. The tank came to a stop as the sand behind it stopped. “Now, Jimmy, aim down the pass and fire four shots toward the bottom of the cliff. It doesn’t matter if we see anything, just fire to devastate the enemy. Tony, I want you to open up with your thirty cal into the bottom of the cliffs to also give off fire.” Walter issued the order while continuing his watch. So far so good, now maybe I should ask for their surrender over the loudspeaker, Walter told himself silently as his eyes kept checking the cliff. Now this is all up to Furey and Dan he said in his head. The flare was still hanging in the air; the light now would not be casted upon the Axis soldiers, but rather anything within the open area. The tank would only be seen by those on an equal level as it. The engine was still running as the tank sat there. ”Now is the time to find the enemy.” Walter said as he unlocked the hatch on top of the tank. The enemy would have a hard time hitting him if he used the MG on the top. As he remembered, it still had tracer rounds in it. Walter sent his hand up and pushed the metal hatch open. The open chill and fresh air flew past Walter’s face as he put both his hands on the fifty caliber machine gun. With a slight push with his thumbs inward he sent bright tracer rounds all around the bottom of the cliff. The barrel of the fifty was getting hotter, but the rounds kept bursting out and hitting all over the bottom of the cliff. Light exploded on the ground and on the cliff face as the bullets lit on fire giving the effect of a flare. Soon the barrel started hissing as the heat went up until it was too hot to fire. Walter ducked down into the tank leaving the MG pointing upwards as he pulled the hatch shut, locking it when he was done. As soon as he was back in his seat, Walter was glued to his periscope looking all over the bottom of the cliff for life signs. The waiting was tense, even in the midst of battle; you have to wait for the right opportunity to completely destroy the enemy. Hopefully that time was coming; all he had to do was wait. Walter had then looked down the periscope; his eyes were getting adjusted to the darkness of the night that engulfed the battlefield. _______________________________ Now for the Map. Red Circle is where the Two shots against the cliff were made. Put that into account. Yellow Circles are where the individual tanks shots were sent at the ridge. Pink Line is the area that the 30 cal opened fire on. Maroon line is where the 50 Cal MG Tracer Rounds were Sent. Any Other Questions, just ask. Map: img686.imageshack.us/img686/6933/africa3.png

****MODERATION POST****
- With the heavy assault from Walter's tank. Instead of pointing out what every single damage did I'll put it in a nutshell.
- He bombarded and blitzkireg'd the position where Rolf and his men has fled. However the enemies were not properly spotted. The initial two shots agaisn't the cliff did not do much. But it made the Axis retreat back, from the tank shots fired it and the allied MG just finished it. Leaving the stragglers of the retreating bunch to the mercy of the enemy. Four of Rolf's and one of Niklas's were caught and are killed.
- All the men are now behind the broken halftrack. The two axis mg-40's are still keeping Dan's men under check and have managed to get one of his men in the lower pelvis killing him. Following this they have retreated back again.
- With this most of the men have now spotted Walter's tank especially from the people around Niklas watching. They have noticed it and are keeping tabs on it. If you want to dissapear again you need to move the tank far back of the hill / off the hill.

(Oh noes! 5 losses! Also, I hope the panzershreik being found in the halftrack is acceptable.) Rolf and most of his men had made it back to safety behind the halftrack, which did not work anymore. Rolf looked around, and saw that not everybody was there. A quick count revealed that 5 were missing. They would be recommended for Ritterkreuzen. "Alright men. We have a few casualties, but that shouldn't be thought of as a bad thing. They served Der Fuehrer well, and died defending the Fatherland. We will not let their sacrifice go in vain. We wil destroy the Americans!" After the short speech, Rolf saw something in the halftrack wreck. He crawled over to it, and saw that it was a panzershreik. Rolf pointed to the two men who had the most experience with the weapon. "You two. Do you remember where the tank rounds came from?" They nodded, and pointed to the approximate area around where the tank rounds came from. "Alright. I want you to fire five rounds there. But not from here. You'll have to go outside of the cover of the halftrack, but you'll have covering fire from the MG-40s. Understand?" They both responded with yessirs, and went to their spot, with covering fire from the MG-40s. They proceeded to the first of five spots, and fired one round, then moving and firing, until they got to the last position. Rolf hoped that at least one of the rounds hit the tank, though it couldn't really be seen in the dark. img148.imageshack.us/img148/6889/40420600.jpg

****MODERATION POST****
- Out of the five rounds shot. I can tell you now that two of them missed the target extensively, flying beyond the tank.
- The third one hit the tank to the front right corner. It did not do much damage but the armor has considerable weakened. The fifth hit the cliff head on, weakening it more.
- To reaffirm, due to the extreme barrage from the tank it is under tabs from the Axis, and the fourth hit the tank head on but somehow it hit lower than expected, causing a small explosion causing the dirt/soil/land/rock to fly away causing the front of the tank to dip severely. It also damaged the armor on the front but the top area with the turret is undamaged due to the plate at the front absorbing most of the damage. The tank is unable to move but will be able to fire but will have more difficulty aiming and such due to the stated dip. This is no severe permanent damage to the vehicle and can be fixed by an engineer after the battle.
- There are no more rounds left in the Panzershreik.

Post by Furey "Blondie" Campellone on Feb 10, 2010 10:56:08 GMT -5
Furey looked across the darkened cliff as he watched the final German troops fall down the Cliff. He could hear loud explosions and the sound of a half-track moving around, and ordered his men to crawl forward slowly. He watched the jeep roll next to him, and he looked at the driver, saying “Stay here for a moment, make sure my jeep doesn’t sink into the sand either!” He walked over to where he had set up the grenades, and began to slowly remove the wire from their pins, and soon was holding there perfectly good grenades in his hands, handing two of them back to the corporal under his command. He looked at the men, and said “Lets stay quiet, there’s still a fight going on!” Suddenly, he heard a loud explosion that sounded like TNT, and watched a smoke grenade go off in the middle of the pass below. He then watched the muzzle blast of Two Bazooka shots going off, and listened as he heard them hit what sounded like an APC. All of the fighting fell silent for only a moment, before it all continued on, the war would have to keep going on. In the mean time, he ordered one of him men to carry one of the, unfortunately injured privates, back to a safe place, and care for him until the fight was over. He watched the man make his get away, carrying him across his back, he looked back towards his men, and yelled “Lets not let these krauts get away!” This seemed to be a sort of rally, and he and the rest of his men continued on towards the edge of the cliff, He could hear heavy fire coming from what sounded to be two machine guns, he guessed that the A.P.C still was using its Machine Guns. He looked at his men, and told them to pause for a moment, and watched his men set up the machine gun on the edge of the cliff. As he moved to the edge of the cliff, he instantly remembered the Satchel charge, and thought of using it against the A.P.C. , but changed his mind, he thought of using the German’s machine guns against them. He looked around, and watches his men slowly move into position, and ordered them to take out their grenades. He took a grenade from one of his fellow soldiers, and held it in his hands, and looked at his men as they aligned on the edge of the cliff. He spoke up, saying “On the count of three, pull your pins and roll the grenades down the hill, or throw them on that APC! Connors, once you hear the first grenade go off, open up with that machine gun!” He looked at the two men on the jeep, and said “Get off the cliff and go to the middle of the Pass, use your machine gun to keep any and all Germans from escaping!” The jeeps driver nodded, and he watched it drive off. He then looked back at his men, and said “Once that Machine gun opens up, ill fire a flare, and we all shoot every German we can see!” They all nodded, and he began to count, clutching the grenade in his hand, the pin in one finger, he began to count out loud. “ONE!”,”TWO!”,”THREE!!” He pulled the pin, and watched the rest of the men do so, and threw his grenade as hard as he could, onto the German A.P.C. He watched the rest of the men throw their grenades, four in all, down the cliff. When the first blast came, the machine gun opened up, its rapid fire spraying lead all over the place. Furey listened as the rest of his men opened fire, like a firing squad, on the Remaining German troops below. He pulled out his flare gun, reloading his last, white flare, and fired it up into the sky, revealing the German soldiers below that were hiding, so the tank could fire on them if it pleased. Niklas and his troops sprinted out of the way as they saw the grenade come down towards them. He was just barely able to see the explosions of the other grenades as her looked around. This was a battle he could not win and he knew it. "I want to return the favor of those grenades! now!" He pulled out his own and flung it up and over towards Furey and his troops. He then saw his troops do similar. Niklas panted, they had to get out to survive, giving their lives wouldn't win this battle. "I need cover while I do what I can to fix the halftrack!" He ordered Klein to take the other free MG42 and suppress the unit above them. Niklas climbed into the Halftrack in an attempt to repair what he could to get the thing up and running. He was glad the other unit ha already thrown it's grenades so he had less to worry about. The other men in his squad fired up the hill. ((Alright, red are my grenades. Just minus the number based on how many casualties I get when the mod mark is posted.)) i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr299/SAZIC/ww2mapnightmare.jpg

****MODERATION POST****
- Furey's four 'nades dropped down. The first nade hit just a few feet south of the MG and killed one of Rolf's men instantly. The others scattered for the 'nades. The machine gun ripped though the scattered and got one person in the arm, leaving him unable to shoot. He has his left hand still working, infact.
- The grenades aimed at the halftrack missed it horribly. Although one did manage to hit it but bounced off and exploded mid-air.
- Even though Furey did use a flare. The tank was still preoccupied trying to back out of the hole in land.
- For Niklas he got a 'nade up to Furey's position which surprised some of them and got two of them. One has one round to live and will die out the next due to blood loss. (Thats inevitable) The other was just blasted off and is now suffering from a concussion. This also forced his men back considerably.
- With this one of the MG's from the Axis are trying to pin down Furey's men above the cliff. And one is on Dan. The one on Dan will run out of ammo in a turn. Niklas is currently working on trying to fix the minor issues of the halftrack. Although it will need to be flipped over to the right side to work.
NOTE: Feel free to notice me about anything I have missed. (Any attacks or not) or feel free to point out my mistakes. Thanks, -Mike!

Post by Daniel Steinert on Feb 13, 2010 23:39:35 GMT -5
Daniel and his men were under heavy fire from one of the MG42's. Daniel thought "they have the MG's going constantly to keep us down which means they are making a move. Attacking it too dangerous, so they are going to pull out." He heard multiple grenades go off and saw dust clouds arise. Daniel went to the bazooka man and asked "All I have to do is pull the trigger, right?" "Yes that is correct, and aim slightly above the target to compensate for the rocket arch....what are you thinking?" Daniel ignored the private and quickly rigged up his last TNT charge. He moved close to the edge of the cliff, then tossed it the rest of the way. He then piled sand all around it as well as on top of it. He piled until it was covered with a foot of sand on all sides. He quickly returned to his men "Alright, this is our last shot at taking these guys. I'm going to blow the charge and create a dust cloud. As soon as most of the immediate shrapnel is gone, I'm going out there to take one last shot at that halftrack. As soon as that is done I need crazy amounts of cover fire. Understood?" all of the men nodded and prepared themselves. Daniel took off all of his gear to give him maximum speed. "Fire in the hole!!!" He blew the charge and there once again was an earth shaking explosion. He waited for the shrapnel to die down and the cloud to rise. He then ran out, slid down the partially blown up cliff, and ran out of the cloud into the open. He saw the halftrack and the MG still firing on his old position. Daniel crouched and lined up the sights of the bazooka. he aimed slightly above the center of the halftrack so that it would hit lower down or at least in the center. He pulled the trigger and saw the rocket billow towards the halftrack. He held the bazooka tightly to his shoulder and rand like a madman back to the cliff. He heard the cover fire and saw the cloud of dust start to settle. "I'm gonna make it, I'm gonna make it" The red dot is where the TNT went off, and the black dot is where I fired. i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq300/ColHesler/ww2mapnightmare-1.jpg

****MODERATION POST****
- I apologize for the lateness of this modmark. I shall make that up for you guys. I admit it took longer for me to think about this due to recent events.
- Daniel tried to hit the halftrack but under the pressure he missed considerably and hit the cliff wall behind the halftrack. This caused debris to drop on the axis and it covered the man shooting the MG on the left and left him unconscious.
- Luckily for Furey's men they had already retreated back a couple of feet due to Niklas's 'nades. Walter is currently stuck in the tank. (Furey I don't mind if you RP that Walter retreated leaving you incharge.)
- Niklas is trying to fix his halftrack, atleast trying to get it riding considerably until it is fixed. The rollover before kept the engine and it's mechanics in order luckily but it will still need to be worked on for one more round to be fixed but it will be very vulnerable due to many destroyed parts.
I know many has thought the battle has been closed but I know you guys want a proper resolution, so go ahead. Rolf's Up Now! NOTE: Feel free to notice me about anything I have missed. (Any attacks or not) or feel free to point out my mistakes. Thanks, -Mike!

The two men with the panzershrek came back, with an empty ammo pouch. "Stop firing the MGs!" Rolf ordered. "We need to conserve what little ammo we have left." Rolf peeped out over the half track for a moment, and saw the tank stuck, unable to do much. "Alright, we got the tank stuck. I don't think it can do much, but it can still use it's machine gun, I believe. So be careful around it." Rolf looked up and behind him, seeing some Allies. "Alright, I want half of you to throw your grenades at the men up there. Aim precisely, and hit well." Half of the men there, took out their grenades, and threw them at the Allies above them. Rolf noticed the unconsious machine gunner. "Get that man to a safer place, and somebody else man it, but don't fire until they rush us, which they might do." The orders were carried out, and the downed machine gunner safe toward the center of the group. (notes, the red circles are my grenades, and if they're my men, please tell me, so I can edit appropriately.) img402.imageshack.us/img402/4153/ww2mapnightmare1.jpg
