Johan stifled a chuckle at the gradual drunkenness of those around him. To cover it up, he grabbed his own drink to sip. Suddenly he paused. Rather hypocrytical within his own mind to cover up the chuckle at the drunks by drinking himself. With that thought in his head he could no longer keep the laugh to himself and it came pouring from his mouth.
"This is where 1st Fallschirmjager Division headquarters is based," replied Johan after collecting himself. "After our action in Poland and with the Sitzkrieg in the west, there is little else to do beyond a return to our home and continuation of training. I've heard some rumors for a push into France in the spring after the snows have melted.
"That could mean the paratroopers get flown in and dropped on the Maginot Defense Line. The French have a high reliance on its impregnability, but that line was built before the advent of paratroopers. It is my belief that a mass of paratroopers could be capable of taking out a portion of the line and allowing follow up troops on foot and wheel to flood through into France."
Johan took another sip of nearly empty glass and set it on the table again. "Of course, there is the old Schlieffen Plan to go through Belgium and Holland. Alas, I hope the higher-ups have a good plan together and won't go sending us in as fodder."

"For all our sakes, I hope you're right." Rolf grabbed a glass of water from the sink in hopes of trying to dilute the alcohol in his blood stream. "I heard rumors of a plan to send some panzer divisions through the Ardennes. I think it's the stupidest plan ever! The Maginot Line doesn't extend through the Ardennes because they're impassible by all except a few elite mountain divisions, which is barely enough to take France. We need to bomb the line, then send in paratroopers and tanks in conjunction with each other. Then we'll really have them weakened, and we'll be dining in Paris in a week." Rolf laughed an almost evil laugh at his plan. "It'd be like taking candy from a baby!" Rolf laughed even harder. 'Oh,' he thought. 'I just embarassed myself again. Just stop talking and you'll be fine'

"Personally, I think the best situation would be to go through Belgium again. We could avoid war with the netherlands and Blegium by only attacking France but the Maginont Line is ridiculous. Why attack a fort when you can go around it? "The English will be no problem. We wont even need to have total sea superiority to keep them from landing. Their fighters can't make it across the channel, we'll just sink their landing craft before they land and push them back into the sea haha!"

Rolf was a little surprised at Oberstleutnant Dieter's assumptions on how easy the war would be with England. He remembered his father's stories about the Great War. The beginning sounded just like Bernhard's assumptions. "Don't get me wrong, sir, but I think, that the British are going to be damn near impossible to drive out unless we control the skies and sea. I studied some British tactics before Hitler came to power, and they know how to use their available planes and boats. We need to destroy their air force with medium bombers and fighter-bombers, and then start the sea invasion. If we leave one squadron, they could use it to destroy the Luftwaffe. I aslo think that leaving any country in Western Europe would come back to haunt us later. We need to keep peace with the Bolsheviks and take all of mainland Western Europe before we implement an invasion of England, only they can we take care of the U.S.S.R." Rolf felt good about his plan and smiled while he took a shot of Stroh 80. He noticed that the bottle was half full now, and went to get another.

Johan got up from his chair and stretched. He downed the last of his drink and returned to the end table. “Well, the ultimate strategy does fall into the hands of the generals,” he said. “Our goals will be small and our planning directed toward those much smaller tasks. I do look forward to getting out of the Sitzkrieg and moving on the French. Idle minds are the cradles of mischief, and my men have been idle for a while now.”
He made his way over toward Blauvelt. “As for the Reds, I would like to see that nonaggression pact stay in place for the full decade. It is the only way I see as the survival of the Reich. The Reds may be inferior in combat skill, but they are considerably more of them than us.
“As for myself, it is getting late and I think it best to hit the sack. SS-Oberscharführer Blauvelt, it was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to our continued cooperation in the pursuit of the Reich’s ambitions.” He offered his hand and then waited for the young man to make his exit before turning to his brother.
“As for you, Bernhard, I am much more akin to sleeping alone than with you sitting next to my bed.” He chuckled slightly. “Perhaps tomorrow afternoon we can run our squads through some war games to keep them fresh.” After his brother stood, he embraced him and then escorted him to the door. “Good night.”

Johan announced that he was going to bed, and he offered his hand. Rolf shook it, and said, "May you rest well, freind. I hope my squad will be able to join your squads in your war games. I've got some new ideas that I think would work well." After Johan left, Rolf filled his glass with the Stroh, and started nursing it. "Well, now what? Anything else going on with the Reich? I heard that a soldier 'rescued' another soldier from the Gestapo, and almost got them both killed. What do you guys think?" Rolf asked this to see if Bernhard Dieter knew about Rolf Reinard stealing him from the Gestapo.

Reinard awoke 'kicking' and swearing. Gulping down some Stroh, Rolf laughed and knew that he was gonna throw up from alcohol poisoning soon. "Reinard, slow down. You don't want your dinner on Bernhard's carpet, do you? Johan had to leave. He's planning for some exercises, I am too. I hope you will be there to help. And besides, remember what happened when you drank too much at the bar, and the Japanese officer, or as you liked to say, the Tojo Asshole. We don't want that happening again.

Rolf watched as Reinard said that the tojo was still an arsehole. 'Oh well,' he thought. 'What can you do about another person's feelings? Let him think that, he'll learn soon.' "Kay Rolf. Night. Remember, 6:00 A.M. at the woods. I'll be waiting." Looking at the clock, he realised that maybe he should go to sleep too, since he needed to get the forest ready for the exercise. Grabbing the bottle of Stroh 80, and another one from the fridge, he announced, "I think it might be time for me to retire as well. I need to prepare an exersice for my men, and I need some rest. Nice meeting you, Herr Dieter. I hope we meet again soon. Heil Hitler!" Rolf then left carrying the 2 bottles of Stroh 80.
