Masaru sat himself in the booth in the back corner of the tavern. The tavern was a very average one, used to seeing the members of the Nazi army. The bench that he sat on was padded, but the fabric had been ripped many times from careless patrons. music was wafting through the air along with the smell of many home brewed drinks.
The waitress came up to him, "Möchten Sie ein Getränk? (Would you like a drink?)"
He answered, "Irgend Getränk. (Any drink.)"
"Möchten Sie Tagesgetränk? (Would you like Today's special?)", she continued.
Masaru yells at the woman showing his frustration from work, "Geh ein Beir mich machen. (Go make me a beer)"
She leaves and heads to the bartender. The bartender pulls the handle and beer flows into the glass, developing a rich froth. The beer is given to the waitress on her tray. She walks over and sets the beer down in front of Masaru with a disgusted look on her face and then quickly heads back to chat with the bartender.
Masaru drinks a mouthful of the beer. He hates the taste but drinks it because of the lack of tea in the area. He sits in the booth and works on finishing his cold drink during his time off.

Hans walked into the room in his class A uniform with his awards on it (they are basic training awards). He saw a man sitting at a table by himself and noticed he was a member of the 1st Fallschirmjaeger. He went and sat down by him. Hans asked for some Snapps. He began to talk to Katsuo about the unit's activity.

As he looked into his mug, he saw Hans out of the corner of his eye. He looked up to be polite. He carried on in the conversation while he watched the waitress walk away with Hans's drink order. He was positioned were he would be able to see out the front window and see the edge of the HQ. The waitress came back with Hans's Drink, a few shades of color off of his own. He took out a pencil and started to draw the waitress. After he got the basic shape, he thought that it might look like he didn't care for the person sitting across from him. He put the pencil back in its pocket and carried on with Hans in conversation.

Dominik entered the tavern slowly for the first time. He had never gone into a place like this. Feeling new and insecure he stopped at the doorway to see where he could sit. Being new to the army he sat himself in a corner. After deciding to try a beer he told the waitress to get him one. He saw two other soldiers talking. The waitress brought him his beer. He took a small sip. He couldn't describe how it tasted like, but it was better than the usual stuff he drank. While drinking the cold beer he stared out of the window and drifted into his thoughts...

Adolph groaned and stretched as he shut the large book in front of him. He winced slightly as his neck cracked; he must have been studying for hours. He glanced mournfully at the pile of books next to him; part of him knew that as a medic, it was his job to know all he could about helping the wounded, but another part reminded him of his promise to himself, before the latest practice jump. To get more involved and to stop hiding behind his work like a child afraid of everything.
Adolph had never been good at improvising; he had always dreaded the feeling of being stuck in public unsure of what to do. He had thought he had left this feeling behind in school long ago. He was wrong. Glimpsing around the tavern, he spotted a few civilians along with a few other soldiers. Two he noticed right off were talking animatedly, well one was. The other he believed was Hans. Despite his determination to get to know the men better, he could help but dread the thought of such conversation.
When his eyes fell upon a single man in the corner, he hesitated. He could go sit with him, it was not sure whom the man was, and it would be a good way to get to know him. On the other hand, the man may not want to have anyone sit with him, that being the reason he was in the corner and it would be embossing not to mention awkward to be told not to sit down. Deciding the pro probably out weighed the cons, he head towards, the table. As he approached, he stopped about two feet away and asked, “Entschuldigung. Kümmern Sie sich, um wenn ich hier sitze?”
Waiting for an answer he wondered about ordering a bier, but then was it not one two many bier that had landed him in the Fallschirmjäger.
Trnslation: Entschuldigung. Kümmern Sie sich, um wenn ich hier sitze -Excuse. Do you mind if I sit here?

Dominik continued with his drink .. He jolted up as he saw a person next to him, not expecting anyone to talk to him as in his life he never had any friends. He wasn't a loner or anything, but he just wasn't a talkative guy. He replied ''No at all''. Looking at him he realized he was probably a high rank officer he continued to stare at his drink...

Adolph took a seat and deciding that it would look peculiar not to order a bier, motioned for one of the serving girls. As he waited for one to arrive, he glanced at the man who sat across from him. The man he noticed was glancing down at his drink studying it with the fascination of a boy who had discovered a candy store. Puzzled Adolph realized with a shock that the man was nervous to look at him. It had not been so long ago that he had been an anwärter, a simple private, know he was a Ärtzlichhauptscharführer. He tended to forget his promotion, a gain that he cared little for.
Reaching his hand out he introduced himself, “Lassen Sie mich sich vorstellen. Ich bin Ärtzlichhauptscharführer Adolph Bohme, die meisten anrufe mich Adolph. Ein Arzt I nicht wirklich in die gesamte Ranksache sein. Außerdem sind Sie herum hier neu? Ich kann nicht sagen, daß ich Sie herum aber dann fühle ich wie I, welches die Bücher für Tage studing ist.”
Waiting for a reply, he turned to the women whom had finally made her way over to their table. “Gerade ein Bier bitte. Was überhaupt auf Hahn oder vorhanden ist. Ich bin nicht picky.” As he watched the women walk away, he mused over his words, to be truthful this war had taught him to be happy for what you had. Turning back to his table companion, he hoped that he had acted casual enough. While he knew rank and respect was important, he felt no need for it sitting here in a tavern.
Translation:
I am Ärtzlichhauptscharführer Adolph Bohme, most call me Adolph. Being a medic I not really into the entire ranks thing. Moreover, are you new around here? I can’t say I have seen you around, but then I feel like I been studing the books for days.
Gerade ein Bier bitte. Was überhaupt auf Hahn oder vorhanden ist. Ich bin nicht picky. ---- Just a beer please. What ever is on tap or available. I'm not picky..

Dominik took a quick glance at this man called Adolph, then reached for his hand and shook it.
After taking a quick sip he replied him. '' Eh..I have been here a few weeks. I think i have seen you a couple of times around the barracks. Well nice to meet you.''
The words came out a little slow as he actually never learned the language officially instead he picked up a few words his former caretaker had taught him as a baby. So he grew up into a hard, rough silent type of guy. Dominik not knowing what to say stared at the man for a few seconds then not knowing what to say next quickly turned his head and started staring at the waitress.

(OCC: Sorry it took so long. Sorry it so short. )
Adolph studied Dominik out of the corner of his eyes as the waitress brought him his drink. As he listen to Dominik reply, he noted his hesitance, the man, despite his German nationality, seemed a bit slow in it.
Grabbing his beer, with a nod to the waitress as he handed her the amount due, he turned back to Dominik. "Would it be easy if I spoke in English?" As he waited for an answer he continued to speak. "So what to you think of your time here so far? How do you feel about the training?"
