Character History:
- Jonny was born in New Hampshire. He was very smart but not a genius. He had no amazing skills and never excelled at anything, but he never failed at anything either. Overall he was slightly above average but nothing special. He tended to be rude and sarcastic but didn't discriminate against anyone. He always got bored at whatever he was doing, so he joined the army when he was eighteen, hoping for some excitement.

- Any rank is fine
Writing Sample:
Scenario:You are in the middle of two German MG42's and have nothing but a grenade and bolt action rifle. There are 4 soldiers 1 in each nest and one one each side of you with MP40's. WHat would your character do? HOw would he respond?
"S***," Jonny muttered to himself. He checked his supplies and found that he only had one grenade left. "S***," he repeated, wondering how long he could sit in this trench before somebody found him. The rest of his squad was dead, but they didn't have anything either. Now he was alone against multiple enemies. And they probably have better equipment too he thought bitterly, wondering how he could get out of this. He pressed himself against the wall of the trench and slowly raised himself up until he could see the Nazi's head. he was facing away and didn't notice Jonny raising his rifle. He took very careful aim and fired. The bullet hit the soldier's helmet, denting it but leaving his head intact. Jonny ducked back down and worked the next shot into the firing chamber. Da** military grade weapons. At least he's probably unconsious. He lay down on the muddy bottom of the trench and watched to see if anyone would come to investigate. Someone did, and Jonny shot quickly; but not quickly enough. The Nazi soldier got off a few shots before dropping into the pit with a bullet hole through his head. His aim was poor, but one shot hit Jonny's left arm. He clenched his jaw shut to keep from screaming, but he couldn't keep a long string of curses from running through his mind. After a few seconds he managed to concentrate on the situation and bandaged the wound with a strip of cloth torn from his shirt. He loaded another round, wincing from the pain in his arm, and considered what to do next. He didn't know if there were any more enemies, so he used a trick that, despite being cliche and overused, still worked: he put the Nazi's helmet on the barrel of his rifle and slowly pushed it up over the edge of the trench. Immediately the two machineguns fired and the helmet flew off. Yeah, two machineguns. S***. He knew their general direction, but not the distance. After a few more seconds of contemplation he formed part of a plan. He backed up to the wall opposite one of the nests. He took out his grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it in the direction of the gun. As soon as he heard the explosion he stood up and aimed towards it. As the smoke cleared he saw the outline of the sandbags that protected the soldier manning the turret. He quckly determined the location of the soldier within the nest and, praying to whatever diety heard him, fired a shot. He knew that he was dead if he failed, so he remained standing when he worked the mechanism to reset the firing pin. After the smoke cleared completely and there was still no movement from the nest Jonny breathed a sigh of relief. Now to figure out something for the other one. He thought for a minute and still couldn't think of anything that actually had a reasonable chance of sucess. Seeing as he had to do something, he chose the least dangerous option. He rested his rifle on the edge of the pit and tried to aim it where it would hit the last soldier if he was the same distance as the other one. Adrenaline deadened the pain from his wound, but he could not block it out completely. Still, he forced himself to aim carefully. Once he was as acurate as he was going to be he pushed his head up and looked down the sights for only an instant before firing. Afterwards he just let himself fall down, making no attempt to stop himself. Then, while he was listening to the soldier screaming, he realized it was a bad idea when he landed on his left arm. He wasn't prepared for it and screamed too, tears escaping his tightly shut eyes. After a few seconds he stood up again and climbed out of the trench with his one good arm. Walking over to the soldier whose helmet had only been dented, he grabbed the machine pistol and fired it one-handed into the Nazi's skull. Then he went to the nests and repeated the process with the Nazis there. Then he went back to the trench. One of his squadmates had a map, and he located the nearest allied encampment, then set off towards it, hoping there weren't any hostile forces on the way.
