Crawling through the brush, Masterson was able to sneak past between the two MG nests and their respected guards. After moving past the nests, Masterson turned back and removed the grenade from his belt. He pulled the pin and armed the grenade and aimed carefully for the left MG nest. He threw the grenade with a hard throw. It landed just within the parameter of the nest and it's guard. The grenade exploded with a loud blast, destroying the MG nest and throwing the guard feet ahead and to the ground, landing on his neck. Masterson then srpung from the grass and took aim at the remaining guard. He steadied and shot him in the forehead. As he reloaded, Masterson began charging the remaining MG nest from behind. As he reached the top to the back of the nest, Masterson could see the final German soldier making an attempted to reach for his Luger. Obviously stunned from the assault, it had slowed down his reaction time, giving Masterson ample time to discharge a fatal round into his chest. After the assault was done, Masterson sat down near the vacant MG42 and removed his helmet. He began to give thanks for being able to overcome the opposition and live to fight another day.
