He stared at the endless fill of tree's covering the area in front of him, the shades of green was somewhat overwhelming. He shivered a little in the cold air and he looked down to see water has been filling the trench slowly, drip by drip. Although it was no more than a few centimeters from the ground. He looked to his side and tapped the man next to him and gestured the orders to get out, the other men looked at the soldier and started to follow, Heydrich didn't even utter a word but the soldiers knew what to do perfectly. He moved up with the five men and stood in front of the door, waiting for a while he opened the door slowly. Going inside the room he observed the small building. Four windows and two doors. He spoke slowly, ''Lukas, Gerald man the south and the east window, keep your head down. Ralf go get the man in the foxhole outside the building, and Dirk stay near me at all times'' They all grunted in agreement complimented by nodding heads. Heydrich grinned slyly at the men as they got into position. He walked out of the room accompanied by his guard and the man sent to fetch the man in the foxhole below the house. He waited patiently as three men were now in front of him. He thought for awhile if his plan was going to work or not. He was always more of a pessimist, it was a good thing. He always expected the worse. He sent Dirk to get the man in the furthest foxhole, he knew he was changing his plans drastically but he wanted to out of here before nightfall, hopefully triumphant. He looked back to check the two guards peeping secretly out the window to spot any attackers, good. Next he looked at the other guard at the other foxhole to the east. What was the use of being holed inside the ground. He made his decision and asked the two men to get the man. The three men assembled outside the house looking for new orders, Heydrich spoke to them. Seriousness was burning from his dark blue eyes while he spoke, ''I am taking a risk.'' He stopped, hesitating. ''I chose you men to go out and explore, find the enemy. Now listen closely. If you see the men, but sure that they haven't spotted you try to shoot at them and run back before they realize it, if they find you run back and lure them back here, shout with the top of your lungs if you can't get rid of them. I trust you men. I will be ready for you people.'' He looked as the men walked away and walked back into the house. ___________________________________________

The smell of the field, the cold breeze breaking through the tree's gave out consistent moans all over the place. He looked at the ten men assembled in front of him, everyone with cold looks on their faces. He knew half of them didn't want to be here and half of them was yearning for a fight. Personally, he never liked France. The inexperience yet cunning officer had seen too much slaughter here. France was being taken too easily, he knew the more pressure that they had to defend the more passionate that they would be defending their homeland. He held up one finger to his nose and blew through the other fiercely, forcing the airflow to continue. He sighed as he looked upwards to the gray sky. Scanning around the area he hoped to find something, anything that could prove beneficial. He knew very little about the lay of the land in this area, there was a building and then a trench. He had also been informed that there were foxholes in the area that they could make use of. Obviously a defensive approach would be of more use since he didn't really even know if the enemy is present in this area. He skipped through the sea of privates as he tried to identify the corporal. Erwin Rommel, Eh? He wondered over the name for a while before approaching him from behind and softly called him. He had to make ready for something... it is expected that the enemy will be unexpected. He rubbed his chin for awhile and the men noticed the two superiors together and stiffened up. He looked at Erwin with cold eyes, ' 'Corporal. We need to search and destroy the enemy, the sooner the better. The weather will not bode well for us if it rains. I want you to take three men and travel south, preferably as quietly as you can, I want to know more first. Tell your men to be careful. We need to secure our flanks to attack before we make a move but... don't wonder off too far. I will handle the situation here, hopefully we can all get out unscathed.''Taking his gun from his back he made sure it was working, checked everything he could. He grinned as he saw the men enter the trenches, he could see the slight drizzle if turned into rain could lead to the trench being flooded. He noted himself about that and entered the trenches himself. He tried his binoculars to try to see anything to no avail. He looked back and saw the foxholes he was told about, thinking he knew there would be more forward and he had to use them to gain a upper hand. He picked four men with a tap of the arm and climbed out of the trench, despite only being a few feet from where the building was he made the men crouch and moved east until he could spot a foxhole. One was found relatively close and one person was asked to jump in it. They all waited in patience while he got himself prepared inside it. As soon as he finished he prompted the men to move again splitting them up and asked them to find any more. To his luck, he found one more a short distance to the north-east of where the first one was, another man was sent in. Heydrich was feeling too vulnerable in the open even with the forest's cover he quickly asked the spare two men to follow him back to the trenches. Back in the trench he jumped looking around and counted five men. Good enough, he had received information that the enemy didn't have much men either but one should always accept the worst. He tried aiming his sights down from above the trenches, satisfied he went back. all he had to now was to attack or be attacked. Which one he did not know, but one had to be done sooner or later. He ordered one person to go into the foxhole south of the house to make sure he had a good sight of the south. He grabbed the attention of the men, '' Men. Front and center, this is your new home. Protect it for the glory of the Reich...''___________________________________________________

Heydrich woke up. He didn't even know what time it was. He looked to see the guards still having a conversation so he realized he just blanked out for a minute or two. He picked his gun back up and walked towards the small window, it was even too small to be one. More like a hole in the wall. It was at the back so it didn't do much good other than telling you if it was night or day. Whether it was sun or rain. He saw nothing but whiteness, the winds got stronger. Maybe it was just his imagination, he walked into the table that he had on the corner there, you could barely called it one.
A guard came to him and stood like a sentinel next to him. He grinned and ignored him, he was used to people trying to suck up to him. He checked his backup on the table one more time. Curiosity grabbed him and he opened the drawer on the bottom. A piece of rolled up paper. He opened it , laying it on the table after putting his pack on the floor. Above it read, 'Guard Patrol Movements and Positions.' He smiled as he looked at it, this place was pretty well protected. And who would be crazy enough to attack this place now right? But he knew pretty crazy thing scan happen in an heartbeat.
He swam through the map with his eyes. He turned to the incompetent fellow at his side, at least he thought he was. ''You! What is this?'' He was scared for a second their and replied. ''That...Tha...Is an outpost, a guard stays there.'' Heydrich thought about it, even though if he could not calculate the weather he knew it would be freaking cold outside. Even a private like him didn't deserve it. He turned around and faced the three men in the room. The two of his men talking and the private that popped up next to him and pointed and them. ''You all go out and call the man on the guard post. I don't care whether you give him some company or ask him to come here. I doubt anything is going to happen today.''

Stuck on the borders of Germany was the last thing that he wanted. And in the middle of nowhere in an water plant. Great. Just perfect. Heydrich looked at the walls, he used to be in a place like this back in his home town. Stuck with chemicals and books. He sighed as he looked at the two men near him. He smiled, no. It was more like a grin. Heydrich requested a break from his early conquests to visit home maybe visit his old dying mother who now lived in an moderate class home in Berlin with two attendants. He knew she was going to go soon so might as well pay her one last visit. He never was really close to his mother it was an instinct that was making him care for her.
He and his platoon was on their way to Berlin when they were diverted when an anti-Nazi uprising happened in a nearby town where half of his platoon had to go. Heydrich and the rest was stationed at this plant until they return. He knew this was basically wasting their time but his men were like his pack of dogs now, he couldn't do without them. He could imagine what it was behind the walls of the plant. Dark and cold. The worst combination. Heydrich stepped into the room on the right to see men patrolling. He had added his own ranks to the guards for extra money. Well not for him, but for his platoon. They needed something extra anyway.
He looked at his gun on his back and took it out polishing the edges. He got this with his promotion to Scharführer. A friend who worked in the arms department gave him. Now it was like it was one of his limbs. Curiously he looked inside his gear to find his grenades, pistol under check which he smiled. A few of the men had equipment lost and stolen so he was always careful. He wondered if anything would happen to this place, would anyone come in? Could he die right now? He knew the answer was yes as he put his gun back and sat down on a chair nearby, resting his eyes for a moment.
